We had a first profession of one of our novices on the feast of All Saint’s. A profession or clothing or any step into a deeper commitment to our Lord is a cause for celebration not only for the one who is making this new step but for all present. One cannot help go back to one’s own first profession and remember the joy and hope that was experienced on that day. It is going back to our first love, that young love that moved us forward in the journey. We look around and see this in the faces of our sisters; they were likely there when we made our profession and us at theirs. We recommit together to our life of prayer and living out the Gospels through the Cistercian charism and encourage each other on the way.
